Clarke Roofing carried out a comprehensive roofing refurbishment at Wannock Village Hall in East Sussex. The existing roof covering was completely removed and replaced with a Bauder 3-layer warm roof system incorporating 140mm insulation, to improve the thermal efficiency of the building. New white UPVC fascias were installed on all elevations, along with matching soffits, gutters and downpipes. The front porch roof was fully upgraded with a Bauder 2-layer roof system.
What the work involved
The existing roof covering was removed completely rather than overlaid. In its place went a Bauder 3-layer warm roof system incorporating 140mm insulation.
New white UPVC fascias were installed on all elevations, with matching soffits, gutters and downpipes, improving both the look of the building and its drainage.
The front porch roof was fully upgraded with a Bauder 2-layer roof system, giving it long-term protection and keeping it consistent with the main structure.
Clarke Roofing defines a warm roof as a roof that has insulation and a vapour barrier laid above or between its supporting structure and immediately below its weatherproof membrane. A cold roof is one with insulation laid horizontally at ceiling level and a void between the insulation and the outer roof structure and covering.
The system installed at Wannock Village Hall is a 3-layer warm roof with 140mm of insulation, specified to improve the thermal efficiency of the hall.
We have re-roofed The Polegrove Bowls Pavilion in Bexhill, East Sussex. At Battle Library we worked in conjunction with East Sussex and the Frankham Consultancy where the existing roof and vertical tiling was failing, causing roof leaks and falling tiles. At Haywards Heath Fire Station, which is operational 24/7, a full roofing refurbishment involved replacing seven roof areas with a high-performance Bauder system. At Eastbourne Crematorium the existing flat roof areas had failed and were in urgent need of replacement.

If a roof is awkward to get to, an aerial survey by drone can be carried out up to a height of 400ft, with a thermal imaging camera available. Call us to discuss whether that would help.
