Lloyd has been with the company for over 20 years, beginning his career as a labourer and steadily advancing through the ranks.
Now appointed as the Managing Director, he is eager to drive the company's growth while upholding the high standards we are known for in all aspects of the business, including Training, Apprenticeships, Health & Safety compliance, and ISO standard commitments.
Lloyd is passionate about the industry, with a particular interest in Heritage projects and listed properties.
Outside of work, Lloyd enjoys the outdoors, including mountain biking and football, with the occasional round of golf.
His young family ensure his spare time is always packed with various sports and clubs!
Josh began his journey with Clarke Roofing aged 16, starting as a labourer on pitched roofs. Through hard work and dedication, he has steadily progressed, becoming both an estimator and contracts manager in the flat roofing department, and earning his position as a company Director.
Today, Josh oversees the flat roofing department, managing the day-to-day operations of ongoing projects, liaising with clients, and preparing quotations. His commitment to excellence in the roofing industry is further reflected by his role as a member of the NFRC committee for London and Southern Counties, where he contributes to the growth and development of best practices in the region.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys staying active through sports, spending quality time with his young family, and socialising with friends. His passion for both his profession and personal life continues to inspire those around him.
Paul has worked with the company for over 41 Years and became a senior director in 2003. He has overall responsibility for contracts and technical advice and works closely with clients and operatives to achieve the smooth running of contracts.
Paul won the UK Craftsman medal in 1990 and he expects the same standards from all our workers.
Carrying on the family tradition, Paul has trained his son Karl , who has also become a director and now works alongside him in the contracts department. Paul oversees the training schedules of our entire team to ensure everyone has the best training, both in skills and health and safety.
In his spare time Paul likes to spend time with his family and grandchildren.
David has been working for the company for nearly 40 years. He started as a labourer and has worked his way up the company ladder.
During his time on the tools he has gained a Heritage Skills Card in slating and tiling. Now a company director, David is head of estimating for pitched and flat roofing works. David organises our successful charity golf days with Business Development Manager Lisa Pickard.
In his spare time he enjoys time with family, playing golf, dining out and socialising.
Karl started working for the company in 2004 as a trainee and has worked his way up through the company and is now a Contracts Manager and company Director . If he is not in the office he can be found overseeing the operatives out on our sites throughout the South East.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
Clarke Roofing was founded over 70 years ago by Frank Clarke senior, and Frank started working for his father as a teenager out on site. Having spent nearly 50 years in the industry Frank has now taken a back seat from the day-today running of the business.
Frank and the team have spent many years planning for succession, and Frank is still supporting the team, having handed over to his sons, Lloyd and Josh - the third generation and the existing team to carry the company forward for many years to come. Frank will continue to work with Architects, Surveyors and many others advising on technical issues and specifications.
Frank is a committee member of the London & Southern Counties region of the NFRC and sits on the craft committee of the Worshipful Company of Tyler’s & Bricklayer’s where he was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in 2015.
When not working Frank enjoys family time especially with his six grandchildren, traveling and sport – like many in the office Frank has been a lifetime supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.
There have been two important roles that Frank enjoys, namely getting young people to train to achieve their qualifications both on site and in the office and helping in the company’s social value policy where Clarkes help the local community and as well as their dedicated charity - St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Eastbourne.
Karen is an administrator and has been with Clarke Roofing since 2014. Karen works closely with all the team sending our estimates and quotes as well as dealing with customers visiting our office.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, running and socialising with friends usually dressed as a pirate at some festival or bonfire event as a member of Eastbourne Bonfire Society.
Melanie has been a valued member of the company since 2012, initially joining as an administrator. Over the years, she has gained experience and a deeper understanding of the business, which led to an exciting transition in 2024 when she took on a new role in business development. This position presents a fresh and rewarding challenge for Melanie, and she is enthusiastic about expanding her skills and contributing to the company in a new capacity. Melanie is in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and walking.
Sue started working for the company in 2018 and works in assisting with the day-to-day administration within the Contracts Department. She works part time and is in the office Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays.
She enjoys spending time with her family when she is not in the office.
Lisa has worked for the company since 2010 and works in the Flat roofing Department assisting Josh Clarke and George Potter, with booking and programming. She works part time and is in the office Mondays and Wednesday.
In her spare time she is a keen golfer and enjoys spending time with her family.
Michael started working with the company in 2019 as one of the pitched roofing estimators whilst also carrying out his educational studies for his quantity surveying degree apprenticeship at the University of Brighton which is sponsored by Clarke Roofing.
Michael is also learning to become one our framework representatives for Clarke Roofing who work alongside many local and county councils. In his spare time Michael enjoys playing football and socialising with friends. He also enjoys taking long weekend city breaks abroad when time allows.
David joined us several years ago as a Contracts Manager/Quantity Surveyor and works closely with the Contracts Team to ensure the smooth running of projects. In his spare time David is a keen biker and a “Bloodrunner” where he volunteers to deliver blood and other emergency supplies such as plasma and baby milk around the South East at the drop of a hat.
George joined the team in March 2021 as a Trainee Flat Roofing Estimator, quickly developing a strong technical understanding of the industry. His role involves building lasting relationships with surveyors and manufacturers, ensuring seamless communication and project success. Known for his attention to detail, George provides precise estimates that meet both client needs and industry standards.
In his spare time, he enjoys socialising with friends and making the most of his free time.
Mark joined Clarke Roofing in 2016 and looks after all our accounts and finances working closely with all the Directors to ensure the company is operating as efficiently as possible.
In his spare time Mark enjoys playing cricket for Eastbourne and spending time socialising with friends and family.
Craig joined Clarke Roofing in April 2024 and brings over 20 years of experience in the construction and building industry. His extensive knowledge contributes significantly to the growth of the Construction Department. Craig has a keen eye for detail, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standard possible. His proactive attitude helps keep project timelines on track and ensures that deadlines are consistently met.
In his spare time, he enjoys the gym playing golf and coaching football.
Danny joined the company in April 2024, as a Contracts Manager and Estimator.
He has been involved in the roofing industry since the age of sixteen, proudly carrying on a family tradition as the fourth generation in this field. His career began with a full apprenticeship in asphalt roofing, and has since expanded his expertise to encompass all aspects of roofing.
As a Contracts Manager at Clarke Roofing, his primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth execution of roofing projects. He works closely with our field teams to deliver high-end roofing contracts on time and within budget. Meeting targets and maintaining the highest standards of quality are his top priority.
In his spare time Danny, is dedicated to coaching youth boxing at the Eastbourne Boxing Club. He also enjoys socialising with friends and playing golf whenever he has the chance.
Dawn joined Clarke Roofing in late 2023 and has since been an integral part of the Pitched Roofing Contracts Department. She is the primary contact for clients for pitched roofing projects, offering comprehensive support from project initiation to completion. Her responsibilities include guiding clients through their projects, ensuring clear communication and smooth progress; answering client queries promptly and accurately; arranging all necessary plant to ensure efficient project execution.
In her spare time Dawn likes to spend time with her husband and at her sewing machine where she enjoys a creative outlet making bags and purses.
Harry joined Clarke Roofing Southern Ltd at the beginning of 2024, embarking on his career as a trainee estimator. In his role, he is dedicated to learning and gaining valuable experience in the roofing industry and estimating.
In his spare time, he enjoys socialising, playing football, playing golf and going to the gym.
James joined Clarke Roofing in March 2024, brining extensive experience from his 7.5 years managing high-profile scaffolding projects for tier one main contractors in London and 2 years managing scaffolding needs for Veolia at the Eastbourne District General Hospital project. His experience in health and safety is highly transferable to his current role as Health and Safety Co-ordinator. James is currently undertaking training to excel in his position and is driven to advance and support the company’s Health and Safety commitments.
In James’s spare time he enjoys swimming, going to the gym, mounting biking and spending time with his family on days out.
