Sika Liquid Plastics – Quality Assured Scheme QA Contractors
The Sika Liquid Plastics guarantee offers a single point of responsibility which only QA Contractors can apply for. This guarantee ensures that the client is protected against the failure of watertightness caused by incorrect design, defective materials, contractor insolvency or poor workmanship. Guarantees can provide coverage for 10, 15, 20 and 25 years, and are supported by Sika’s AAA credit rating.
Competent Roofer is the Government-licensed Competent Person Scheme for England and Wales that allows professional roofing contractors to self-certify that their roof refurbishment work complies with Building Regulations. The scheme encompasses all roofing types for domestic, industrial and commercial properties and is open to all roofing contractors to apply. If 50% or more of your roof needs to be replaced, then under the Building Regulations, your Local Authority needs to be notified a minimum of 48 hours before work commences. If you don’t then you risk a fine of up to £5,000, plus the cost of putting the work right if it isn’t up to the required standards. By using a Competent Roofer member, property owners will save not only time and money but will have the added reassurance that the work carried out meets the exacting standards of the Building Regulations.
ISO’s 9001, 14001 & 45001
A structured quality management system (QMS) is in place to ensure high levels of quality are maintained. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification awarded by UKAS-accredited body SN Registrars evidences that our QMS comprises independently verified processes for monitoring and maintaining quality, as well as delivering continuous improvements in performance. Ongoing suitability of our QMS is assessed via internal reviews chaired by Managing Director Frank Clarke and involving our wider management team, and external audits conducted by SN Registrars. Reviews and audits are undertaken annually as a minimum or following any changes to our processes, legislation, or industry best practice.
Our QMS combines with our ISO 45001:2018-certified health and safety and ISO 14001:2015-certified environmental management systems as part of an integrated management system, differentiating us from many roofing providers.
Clarke Roofing Southern are Constructionline Gold accredited.
All Constructionline members must achieve the Common Assessment Standard, a standardised set of questions crafted from existing systems (like PAS 91, which was developed by the British Standards Institute and commissioned by Government, and is a recommended common minimum standard for construction procurement) and from expert input from clients, suppliers and trade organisations.
To achieve Gold Membership, applicants must complete and extended verified pre-qualification questionnaire that goes beyond PAS 91 and its health and safety standards must meet the criteria of Constructionline’s Safety Systems in Procurement (SSIP) scheme. On top of that, each company’s credentials for environmental management, quality management, equal opportunities, modern slavery act adherence and anti-bribery and corruption policies are assessed.
CHAS, or the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, is one of the founding members of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) and is recognised by clients and other organisations including the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) as being a Stage 1 Approved Health and Safety Assessment Scheme.
The purpose of the CHAS Accreditation Scheme is to simplify the contractor assessment and pre-qualification process by adopting a common standard in accordance with the competence assessment requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
This allows clients to have an assurance that we have been assessed to a minimum common Health and Safety Standard.
As a leading health and safety pre-qualification assessment scheme, Safecontractor are dedicated to promoting higher standards of competence and compliance through the provision of relevant industry specific and tailored health and safety assessments for all professions and sectors.
SMAS Worksafe (Safety Management Advisory Services) is a nationally recognised Health & Safety accreditation used to demonstrate our business’ Health & Safety standards, giving main contractors confidence when it comes to our competence.
SMAS Worksafe is a registered member of Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSiP), which is endorsed by the Health and Safety Executive.
Lead Contractors Association
Clarke Roofing are graded “Excellent” with the LCA.
Members of the Lead Contractors Association (LCA) are all specialist leadworkers. They have skills in other areas, with many offering services in copper, zinc, stainless steel, slating, tiling, etc. – but they are all firstly specialists in leadwork.
The LCA takes the responsibility of maintaining skills standards in the industry, through a continual on-site assessment of their members’ work. Any that fail to demonstrate the required quality levels of design awareness and application skill will have membership withdrawn.
In nominating an LCA member for leadwork, an architect or specifier can therefore have peace of mind that the lead sheet aspects of their project will be completed to the highest standard by specialist contractors able to demonstrate a proven ability in their craft. In turn, the client will receive a value for money performance from both material and contractor.

Investors in People assessments are conducted locally through local Delivery Centres across the UK and internationally.
