Our task was to carry out a full roof renovation including timber repairs, clay peg tiling, leadwork and rainwater goods.
Working in conjunction with the Board of Trustees, Pritchard Architecture Ltd, Marbas structural engineers and MEA quantity surveyors.
A fully designed temporary roof was erected.
Our bricklayers completed brick repairs and repairs to mathematical tiling.
Many of the tiles had deteriorated and could no longer be re-used.
Keymer clay tiles produced new handmade clay peg tiles and fittings which were used on internal elevations allowing salvaged tiles to be used on externally visible elevations.
Dormer tops and valley gutters were renewed using sand cast lead.
A great team effort with considerable help from the curator and house staff.
